The Summer Palace was built by Peter the Great. Snow scene of the Summer Palace when I visited in the beginning of April.

In the palace, an alumna of St.Petersburg University of Arts is repairing the tear in a vestment.

Women embroiders before the Russian Revolution
(1917).
This photo was taken from a book which was published(1914) by Alexandra, the last Queen of the Romanov Dynasty.
There were numerous people embroidering in work shops or palaces.
