Iceland is a small egg-shaped island over the Arctic Circle.
It is called the land of fire and ice. In the Capital, Reykjavik,
overspread lava fields, numerous rivers and waterfalls come
from glaciers and are streaming into a great ravine between
layers of lava. Many beautiful Icelandic embroideries from medieval
times are still well preserved although there have been volcanic
eruptions.
